Founder and initiator of Miss Ronde Cameroun
A career in media and communication
Trained in communication, Dorette Bouwe Ndjiele built her experience in radio, television and on major event stages. As a presenter and master of ceremonies, she developed expertise in public speaking, event hosting and showcasing talent.
Her career includes collaborations with Kiss FM and Canal 2 International, several appearances presenting “Four Weddings, One Honeymoon Africa”, and numerous beauty pageants and cultural events in Cameroon and internationally.
Over twenty years in beauty pageants
For more than twenty years, she has supported, presented and helped showcase young women. This experience allowed her to observe traditional beauty pageant codes and their limitations when some women do not identify with the physical standards usually celebrated.
From this reflection came an ambition: to create a space where full-figured women could be visible, valued and celebrated.
The birth of Miss Ronde Cameroun
In creating Miss Ronde Cameroun, her purpose went beyond organising a beauty pageant. She wanted to offer another perspective on feminine beauty and enable full-figured women to take their rightful place in a world where they remain underrepresented.
The pageant became a platform for self-confidence, body acceptance, dignity, visibility and personal development. A candidate does not simply wear a crown: she becomes the ambassador of a message, a cause and a project.
From Miss Ronde Cameroun to Miss Ronde Africa
With eleven editions behind her, Dorette Bouwe Ndjiele now carries a pan-African ambition through the development of Miss Ronde Africa: a continental platform celebrating the diversity of African women’s bodies and journeys.
She continues her commitment to changing perceptions of full-figured women, encouraging women to believe in themselves and offering new generations role models who reflect them.
